Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after A. Solovyanenko presents

Falstaff is the "opera of operas" by Giuseppe Verdi, and music critics call this work the pinnacle of the composer's creative heritage. Verdi used in this opera his rich experience in creating large musical canvases and the tradition of the Italian buffa opera.

When in 1889 the composer received a finished text from the librettist Arrigo Boito, he immediately set to work. This is Verdi's last twenty-sixth opera, the process of creating which was not easy: the composer's creative impulses were replaced by depressions and vice versa.

On February 9, 1893, Falstaff was shown for the first time and already with success to the Milanese public at the Teatro alla Scala.

However, not every opera house decides to stage this opera, since this opera is extremely complex and requires the highest level of skill from the artists.

On the stage of the Donbass Opera, this brilliant work is presented for the second time, and now it is called The Love Adventures of Sir John Falstaff.

The action takes place in the modern world. Sir John Falstaff is a fat, elderly, narcissistic opera singer who suffers many love failures, but he is still the same born comedian, able to adapt to any circumstances and from any situation to extract the maximum benefit and fun for himself.

The road of love intrigues leads to a completely unexpected turn for himself ... However, in the finale, the vices will be exposed, and everyone will laugh heartily.
