Ermonela Jaho (Soprano)
Ermonela Jaho was born in Albania and started her singing lessons
when six. After finishing her studies in the artistic school of Tirana she won
the first competition at 19 and moved to Italy to finish her studies at the
Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome. After the completion of her studies for canto
and pianoforte she won several important competitions such as: Giacomo Puccini
in Milano, Italy 1997, Spontini International Ancona, Italy 1998, Zandonai in
Rovereto, Italy 1999, Best singer of the Wexford Festival
2000.
She
has performed in many opera houses allover the world including, Royal Opera in
London, Metropolitan Opera in New York, Berliner Statsoper, Paris
Champs-Elysees, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Opera
de Marseille, Arena di Verona, Tatro Verdi di Trieste, Teatro La Fenice, Theatre
Capitoul de Toulouse etc. Her repertoir ranges from Violetta, Maria Stuarda,
Manon, Mireille, Amina, Mimi, Michaela, Guilietta, Anna Bolena etc. From her
first debut until today audiences have been drawn by her artistic personality
and ability to touch every soul through her singing.
