Daniil Kharitonov (Piano)
Daniel Kharitonov was born in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in 1998. Attheageoffivehebegan to study piano at the Special Music School in Novosibirsk. At the age of six he entered the Central School of Music of the Moscow Conservatoire. He is currently a pupil of Valery Pyasetsky. At the age of seven Daniel won the Grand Prix at the Vienna Competition and the honorary title of Mozart Wunderkind. Daniel Kharitonov has been a prize-winner at several international competitions, one of which brought him the Golden Nutcracker award and the Special Prize from Kultura TV in 2010. From the age of twelve, Daniel has appeared with the Moscow Virtuosi and has been a grant-recipient of the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation. The pianist has also appeared with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Musica Viva, the Tchaikovsky Symphony, the Moscow Philharmonic and the Mariinsky Orchestra, with Vladimir Spivakov, Alexander Rudin, Saulius Sondeckis, Valery Gergiev and others. Daniel has toured to the USA and Germany, Spain, France, Slovenia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Bulgaria, and other countries. Daniel Kharitonov has been nominated for Russia’s National Pride award. In October 2013 he had the honour of being a torch-bearer at the Moscow Kremlin in advance of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games.
In April 2015 Daniel was awarded with the Grand-Prix of the Krainev International Piano competition in Moscow and in June 2015 won the 3rd Prize in the International Tchaikovsky Competition .
Daniel Haritonov has participated in the International Musical Olympus Festival in St.Petrersburg (2012 and 2015) and in the Festival presentations in Carnegie Hall in New York, in Tonhalle in Zurich and in Saint Moritz (Switzerland).
