Alexander Sivaev was born in Moscow in 1985.
He has begun his creative career at The Young Actors Musical Theatre. He has designed productions for acting and directing workshops of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (RATI-GITIS) and of Rosetta Nemchinskaya and Alexander Fyodorov.
In 2008 he graduated from the production faculty of the Nemirovich-Danchenko Studio School of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre directed by Damir Ismagilov. Previously worked in the lighting design department of the Bolshoi Theatre. As an assistant lighting designer he worked for a long time together with Gleb Filshtinsky.
In his capacity as a lighting designer he has worked at numerous theatres throughout Russia including the Bolshoi Theatre, the Novosibirsk Theatre of Opera and Ballet, the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre, the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theatre , the Moscow Young Generation Theatre, and the Sovremennik Theatre.
Together with the company Stage Entertainment Russia he has designed for the musicals
The Sound of Music, Cinderella and
Zorro.
He was awarded a
Golden Mask for the
Flight by Bulgakov at the Vakhtangov Theatre (2016).
