Darya Zykova (Soprano)
Born in 1981, Moscow. She sang in the Bolshoi Theatre’s Children’s
Chorus. In 2005, she completed her studies at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky
Conservatoire (Irina Maslennikova’s class). At the present time, she is engaged
in postgraduate studies.
She made her Bolshoi Theatre
debut in 2008 as Papagena (Die Zauberfloete). In the
same year, she appeared as Mercedes (Carmen). In 2010,
she sang Adele (Die Fledermaus).
She has
appeared in Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, USA, Japan, Korea. She has
participated in the International Music Festivals Ars Longa (2005,
2007) and Primavera classica (2005, 2007, 2008). She took part in
performances of Rossini’s opera Tancredi (2005) and of Pergolesi’s
The Roman Mass (2006) at the Big Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire. In
2007, at the Lithuanian National Philharmonia, in Vilnius, she sang the title
role in the opera The Snow Maiden in a Moscow State Conservatoire Opera
Theatre production.
In 2002, she won the Grand Prix at the All-Russian
Bella voce Competition of Singers. In 2007, she was a prize winner
at the Renaissance Music Festival and winner of a Dmitri Shostakovich
Foundation scholarship.
