Turgenev's novels are one of the most elegant and poetic pages of Russian literature. They talk about the most important moral values, make you think about the purpose and meaning of life, about responsibility for their actions and feelings. Turgenev admitted that in his youth he "survived and felt through the contents of the story "Torrents of Spring" personally."

The central line of the plot of the performance is the story of the origin, development and dramatic ending of the love of the main characters - a young man, the outstanding, but weak-willed, indecisive Dmitry Sanin and Gemma, a girl of deep and whole nature. The ballet creators focused their attention on revealing the psychological experiences of the characters, allowing the viewer to penetrate into the depths of human feelings, to relive them or to remember ... Like spring water, life sped past, leaving behind lost dreams and desires. And only memory again and again returns in the days of happy youth, gives minutes of oblivion and awe of the only love that was not destined to come true.

The ballet "Torrents of Spring" is a statement of meticulous details, a statement of subtle psychology, an ideal ballet essay of Russian literature - a complex, multifaceted, sometimes incomprehensible, but close. It can be viewed under a magnifying glass and still not find everything that is embedded in captivating vector movements. Russian ballet critics called this ballet a pride for the theater.

The world premiere of the ballet "Torrents of Spring", dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian classic of literature I.S. Turgenev, was held in May 2018 at the XXXI Sobinovsky Festival. Music for ballet was specially commissioned by the theater by a contemporary Russian composer, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Vladimir Kobekin. This is the composer's first ballet opus.

“Everything is perfect in this ballet - music, choreography, sets and artists. This is exactly the case when everything turned out. It happened to convey the story of pure love, unconscious betrayal and irreversible despair.” - Natalya Pronina about the ballet Torrents of Spring.
