Yuri Markelov (Tenor)


Began to study singing in the early 70ís, after serving in the army. To begin with he sang with Krasnodar amateur groups, then he joined the Operetta Theatre. He sang for many years with the Krasnodar Cathedral Choir. He completed his studies at the Kharkov Conservatoire.
In 1983, he was accepted into the Bolshoi Theatre Opera Companyís group of probationers and soon became a Theatre soloist.
