Viktoria Lyubitskaya (Piano soloist)

Born in Moscow, Victoria Lyubitskaya studied at the Moscow Conservatoire Music School with Valentina Sedova-Berman and at the Moscow Conservatoire College under the well-known pianist and teacher Victor Bunin. She continued her education at senior level in the Moscow Conservatoire under Professors Samvel Alumyan and Lev Naumov.

Victoria Lyubitskaya is a soloist of the Moscow State Philharmonia, the leading concert organization in Russia. She is a laureate of international competitions.

Victoria’s concert repertoire is wide and diverse, embracing works from the 18th to the 20th century. Rachmaninov occupies a special place for her, and she performs all his solo piano works and all works for piano and orchestra (four concertos and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini). Victoria has collaborated with such well-known conductors as Saulius Sondeckis, Mark Gorenstein, Veronika Dudarova, Alexander Anisimov, Vladimir Ponkin, Vladimir Verbitsky, Alexander Rudin, and Dmitry Liss; she has performed with leading orchestras such as the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia (Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra), the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Russian Symphony Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the State Symphony Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Camerata (Chamber Orchestra of the State Hermitage Museum), and the Musica Viva Chamber Orchestra.

In Russia, Victoria has given concerts in Moscow at the Grand and Small Halls of the Moscow Conservatoire, and at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and in St. Petersburg at the Grand and Small Halls of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society; she has also performed in other cities of the Russian Federation. Abroad, she has performed in Switzerland, Italy, Montenegro, Croatia, Poland, Latvia, Germany, Hungary and Australia. Victoria has taken part in international and national music festivals.

She has been recorded for various radio, television and CD companies. In 2008, her recording of Alfred Schnittke’s piano works, released on the Belgian label Fuga Libera, was awarded the top rating of “5” by the prestigious French classical-music magazine Diapason.
Perfomer's concerts Press
I have been fortunate to hear Lyubitskaya playing a wide range of repertoire and I have been particularly struck by the profundity of her creative intelligence, the very high emotional level of her playing, not to mention her technical brilliance and artistic ambition. Taken together, these qualities certainly place this wonderful pianist in the leading ranks of her generation.
Evgeny Barankin,
Music critic,
Honoured Art Worker of Russia

I cannot but express my admiration for Victoria Lyubitskaya’s interpretation of Ravel’s left-hand concerto. Her confident virtuosity, her large beautiful sound, and her boldness in interpreting this extremely difficult concerto were astonishing. I wish Victoria great artistic success.”
Tikhon Khrennikov,
Composer, People’s Artist of the USSR, Laureate of State Awards,
Professor of the Moscow Conservatoire

The only possible reproach one could make against this album is that there isn’t more of it, while in its favour, it offers us the joy of discovering an outstanding pianist.”
Diapason, France

“I have listened to the playing by Victoria Lyubitskaya and I have the best impression of her great musicianship and artistic abilities. She deserves a good international career.
