The most famous repertory opera by Tchaikovsky became a new stage in the producer’s creativity of Dmitry Bertman.

The story lost its usual gloss. The drama of Pushkin heroes acquired concrete nature, utmost acuteness and intimacy, and at the same time the true intensity and scale. The familiar everyday details are raised up to the height of metaphor, symbol.

Pressa about The Play:

"everything is woven from the small lines, the hints, which acquire the frequently decisive importance for understanding of essence". "RI" 10.02.1998

"Bertman tells Onegin’s history easily and freely... The executors of main parties could bring glory to the most known operatic scenes of peace... The freedom, with which the characters interact with each other, is truly sensational ". "Salzburger Nachrichten", 22.06.1999

"in setting" of helicon "opera" Yevgeny Onegin "dyshit by nostalgia and by the disappointed elegance, in it lives the true spirit of the work of Pushkin". "Telerama", 10.11.1999

"the approach Of bertmana to Onegin is absolutely consonant to Tschaikovsky... Possibly, precisely, therefore setting is deprived of dies. All heroes are freed from the stereotype characteristics, solidly fixed on the operatic scene ". "filarmonik" №shch, 2000 "Yevgeny Onegin" in setting Of d. bertman - agitating drama of man, who cannot love ". "Seen & Heard", 8.12.2002
