Igor Moiseyev … the Person strong and integral. The intellectual, and in ninety two not lost great abilities to self-development. The artist who opened a new ideal in art and has truly guessed a way to them. His company has long become a world celebrity and a model. Starting from zero (there had never been any precedents for what he envisaged), Moiseyev by trial and error has created a new artistic genre: folk dancing on the stage. He has also worked out his own unique doctrine of the genre hence the setting up, in 1943, of a "studio" (i.e. a teaching and learning center) affiliated to his company and later the appearance of numerous other dancing companies who followed his example. With a firm hand, he has been drawing the line of his company‘s life: from separate dancing presentations through choreographic compositions up to one act performances. Today there are seven one act performances in the company‘s repertoire.
