Oxana Lesnichaya (Soprano)

Born in the town of Tolyatti. In 1995, she completed her studies at Kharkov Music College (Lyudmila Demyanyuk‘s class) and, in 2000 - at the Moscow Conservatoire (Prof. Irina Maslennikova‘s class).

From 1996-2005, she was a member of Boris Pokrovsky‘s Music Chamber Theatre Company where she sang the following parts: Title role (Euridice), Drusilla (L‘Incoronazione de Poppea), Donna Anna and Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutti), Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), Daughter to Podtochina and Solo in the Kazan Cathedral (The Nose); Parasya (Sorochinsky Fair - premiere); Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare - premiere).

In 2000, she took part in the Ludwigsburg Festival (Germany) where she sang Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tuti).

From 2002-04, she studied at the Galina Vishnevskaya Centre for Opera where she performed the following roles: Title role (Ruslan and Ludmila), Marfa (The Tsar’‘s Bride), Marguerite (Faust).

In the summer of 2003, she took part in an opera gala concert to celebrate the consecration of the Cathedral of All Saints on the Blood in Yekaterinburg (Xenia in Boris Godunov).

In 2006, as a Galina Vishnevskaya Centre soloist she participated in the Golden Prague Festival (Czechia) where she performed the role of Gilda (Rigoletto) and the aria of the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberfloete); and in the May Opera Evenings Festival in Skopje (Macedonia) where she sang the role of Marfa (The Tsar‘s Bride).

In March, 2004, in Frankfurt, accompanied by the Russian National Orchestra conducted by Mstislav Rostropovich, she sang the aria of The Queen of the Night (Die Zauberfoete) and the Bolero of Helene (Les Vepres Siciliennes).

In 2006, she took part in a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the opening of the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra (conductor Vladimir Fedoseyev) season and in 2007 - in a concert performance of Edison Denisov‘s opera Quatre filles (conductor Gennady Rozhdestvensky).

In 2007, she made her Bolshoi Theatre debut (The Queen of the Night in Die Zauberfloete).
