In this year Moscow Easter festival notes its first anniversary - to it are fulfilled five years. The fifth Moscow Easter festival will take place with support of federal agency on the culture and cinematography RF the governments of Moscow from 23 April through 9 May, 2006. In its first anniversary the festival represents the exclusively saturated and diverse program with the participation of the world famous associations and executors.

The fifth Moscow Easter festival will take place with support of federal agency on the culture and cinematography RF the governments of Moscow from 23 April through 9 May, 2006. In its first anniversary the festival represents the exclusively saturated and diverse program with the participation of the world famous associations and executors.

The fifth Moscow Easter festival is timed to the significant date in the history of music - to 100- anniversary from the birthday of Dmitriy Shostakovic. The Moscow retrospective of the compositions of master will become the apex of the scale international project of Valerie gergiyev, timed to this anniversary date - programs of Shostakovic‘s music, initsiirovannye by conductor, they pass to this year in New York, London, Paris, Peking, Tokyo, Rome, Los Angeles, Saint Petersburg and other world musical capitals. With the assistance to Moscow Patriarkhii the festival presents diverse choral program with the participation of the associations from Russia, Georgia, to Bulgaria and the Ukraine in the largest capital temples and the concert halls.

The created during May 2002, Moscow Easter festival inherits the tradition of the West European musical forums, which are conducted in the Easter time. Similar festivals yearly are conducted in Salzburg, Vienna, Berlin, Lucerne, London. They include diverse programs both spiritual and secular music. The artistic leader of festival Valerie gergiyev, working at programs, intended it as the event of general national value as analogous festival in Salzburg, based by Herbert von karayan. The continuation of the traditions of the orthodox of Easter at the same time became one of the main missions of Moscow Easter festival and the revival of unknowns it was stratified Russian musical culture.
