JUNIOR DIVISION

Contestants will perform
SOLO
First Round
a) one variation from the classic ballets listed in the Competition’s Obligatory Repertory;

b) one variation from a classic ballet at the Contestant’s choice.

Second Round
a) one variation from a classic ballet;
b) a contemporary piece specially choreographed for the present Competition, or a fragment from a ballet staged not earlier than 2000. Duration must not exceed 4 minutes.

Third Round (with orchestra)
a)two variations from classic ballets.
DUO
First Round
a) one variation from the classic ballets listed in the Competition’s Obligatory Repertoire;

b) one variation from classic ballets at the contestants’ choice.

Second Round
a) one pas de deux from a classical ballet;
b) a contemporary piece specially choreographed for the Competition or a fragment from ballets staged after 2000. Performance duration: for not more than 5 minutes for duet performance.

The contemporary piece might be choreographed for ensemble performance (duet, trio) or solo (partners are to perform separately). In the event of performing separately – performing duration shall not exceed 4 minutes each.

Third Round (with orchestra)
a)one pas de deux from a classical ballet.

Each item shall be performed in one Round only.

b) a contemporary piece specially choreographed for the Competition or a fragment from ballets staged after 2000. Performance duration: must not exceed 5 minutes.

Second Round
a) one variation from a classical ballet staged by a 20th century choreographer;

b) a contemporary work or a fragment from a ballet staged after 2000. Performance duration: must not exceed 5 minutes

Third Round (with orchestra)
a)two variations from classical ballets.
DUO
First Round
a) one pas de deux from classical ballets listed in the Competition Obligatory Repertory;

b) a contemporary piece for duet specially choreographed for the Competition or a fragment (duet) from a ballet choreographed after 2000. Performance duration of duet: must not exceed 7 minutes.

Second Round
a) one pas de deux from a classical ballet staged by a 20th century choreographer;

b) a contemporary piece or a fragment from a ballet choreographed after 2000.

A contemporary work can be either a duet or a solo (that is for each of the competitors separately). Duet performance duration must not exceed 7 minutes.

In the event of performing separately, the performing duration must not exceed 5 minutes each.

Third Round (with orchestra)
a) one pas de deux from a classical ballet.
Each item should be performed in one Round only.

*Contestants of the Third Round can be nominated for the main Special Prize of Competition devoted to great Russian ballerina M.Semenova if they perform pas de deux from M.Semenova’s repertory: "Swan Lake", "The Sleeping Beauty", "La Bayadere", "Raimonda", "Esmeralda".

General provision:
– Each item should be performed in one Round only.

– Duet or solo performance of modem pieces is allowed for Duets in Junior and Senior Divisions during Round 1 and Round 2.
